Hi @Vernonjunior,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If your HP monitor screen is red upon boot-up, it might be due to several potential causes. Here are some troubleshooting steps to help resolve the issue.
Check the Cable Connections:
- Ensure that the HDMI, DisplayPort, or VGA cable connecting the monitor to the PC is securely attached on both ends.
- Try using a different cable to rule out a faulty cable.
- If possible, test with another monitor or device to check if the issue persists.
Adjust the Monitor Settings:
- Sometimes the color settings on the monitor can be inadvertently altered. Access the monitor's on-screen display (OSD) menu and reset the settings to default.
- If the monitor has color presets, switch between them to see if it affects the red tint.
Test the Graphics Card:
- If you have a dedicated graphics card, make sure it's properly seated in the PCIe slot.
- Try switching to the onboard graphics (if available) to see if the issue is related to the graphics card.
- You could also try the monitor on another PC to verify whether the issue is with the monitor or the PC.
Update Graphics Drivers:
- Outdated or corrupted graphics drivers can cause display issues. Ensure your GPU drivers are up-to-date by visiting the GPU manufacturer's website (NVIDIA, AMD, or Intel) and downloading the latest version.
Check for Hardware Issues:
- If the monitor still shows a red screen after trying the above steps, there may be a hardware issue with either the monitor or the graphics card.
- If possible, test your monitor with another PC to confirm if the monitor is faulty.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
