The brightness stops working until I reboot the computer. Every time I go to adjust the screen brightness it doesn't work. Then I reboot the computer and it's working again. I'm not sure the time frame before it stops again but today I rebooted this morning and it was working but 5 hours later I tried it and it wasn't working again.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I understand the issue you are experiencing with the brightness adjustment on your HP ENVY 34 Inch All-In-One Desktop PC may be due to several factors, including driver conflicts, power settings, or system bugs. Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot and hopefully resolve the issue:
1. Update Graphics Drivers
Ensure that both your NVIDIA and Intel graphics drivers are up to date.
NVIDIA Graphics Driver
- Go to the NVIDIA website and download the latest driver for your GeForce RTX 3050.
- Install the driver and restart your computer.
Intel Graphics Driver
- Go to the Intel website and download the latest driver for your Intel UHD Graphics 770.
- Install the driver and restart your computer.
2. Check Power Settings
Incorrect power settings can sometimes affect brightness controls.
- Open Settings > System > Power & battery.
- Click on Additional power settings.
- Ensure that you are using a balanced power plan.
- Click on Change plan settings next to the selected plan.
- Click on Change advanced power settings.
- Expand the Display section and ensure that the settings for Display brightness and Enable adaptive brightness are configured correctly.
3. Run Windows Troubleshooter
Use the built-in Windows troubleshooter to identify and fix potential issues.
- Open Settings > System > Troubleshoot.
- Select Other troubleshooters.
- Run the Power troubleshooter and any other relevant troubleshooters.
4. Check for Windows Updates

- Restart your computer.
5. Adjust Display Settings
Sometimes, adjusting display settings can help.
- Right-click on the desktop and select Display settings.
- Scroll down to Brightness and color and try adjusting the brightness from there.
6. Disable and Re-enable the Display Adapter
Disabling and then re-enabling the display adapter can reset the driver and might resolve the issue.
- Press Win + X and select Device Manager.
- Expand Display adapters.
- Right-click on Intel UHD Graphics 770 and select Disable device.
- Wait a few seconds and then right-click again and select Enable device.
7. Perform a Clean Boot
A clean boot can help you identify if there are any software conflicts causing the issue.
- Press Win + R, type msconfig, and press Enter.
- Go to the Services tab and check Hide all Microsoft services.
- Click on Disable all.
- Go to the Startup tab and click on Open Task Manager.
- Disable all startup items.
- Close Task Manager and click OK in the System Configuration window.
- Restart your computer and check if the brightness issue persists.
8. Reinstall Windows

I have the same issue since last graphics update few weeks ago (never had this issue before). After a while the brightness cannot be changed anymore (including from control panel) and only rebooting works. I installed latest drivers directly from Intel and from Nvidia but still after a while it stops working. Seems a regression in the Intel driver. Any fix available other than use the previous Intel driver? Note I tried to use support HP site but my serial number is not recognized (workaround I found is not to login and enter product name).
I have these drivers:
Intel(R) UHD Graphics 770: 7/24/2024 - 32.0.101.5768
NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 Laptop GPU: 7/30/2024 - 32.0.15.6018
Note when I rollback the Intel UHD 770 driver in device manager to 6/10/2024 - 31.01.101.5590, brightness works again without a reboot. So I suspect Intel driver is to blame. But not sure yet this will fail after a while too since I think that was the previous driver that failed.

I went to Intel site and installed a newer latest driver but after while still breaks brightness control. I'm trying now the previous driver on HP support site for Intel graphics which in theory should work since I didn't have this issue before.
UPDATE: installed 'previous driver' from HP site for Intel graphics driver and so far seems to work. Need to give it bit more time to be certain (version 31.0.101.5592, 6/19/2024).

Since I think this is a bug in latest Intel graphics driver, you could try to install the previous version.
Go to HP ENVY 34 inch All-in-One Desktop PC 34-c1000 Software and Driver Downloads | HP® Support then select OS version and under 'Driver-Graphics' click on 'Previous version' (Intel High-Definition (HD) Graphics Driver 31.0.101.5186 Rev.A).
I tried that yesterday and so far seems to be working but will give it few more days to be certain.
Device Manager shows now this version for me:
Intel(R) UHD Graphics 770 Properties
Intel Corporation
6/10/2024
31.0.101.5590
Seems still not that old, but you could get older versions from Intel site as well.
