Pavilion 500-a60
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

My new HP 27Q monitor has max resolution of 2560x1440.  I'm only able to max out at 1920x1080 on my display settings with Windows 10 home, there's no option for anything higher.  All drivers are up to date.  It has AMD Radeon HD 8400 graphics which are supposed to have 2560x1440 capability.  I am using a DVI Dual Link cable to connect the monitor that is capable of 2560x1440 since my Pavilion 500-a60 doesn't have an HDMI port.  How do I get the resolution to display 2560x1440?

Welcome to HP Community

I have gone through your Post and would like to help

Based on all the hardware requirements the monitor should display the 2560 x 1440 resolution

I suggest you download and run the HP Support Assistant from this Link: https://www8.hp.com/us/en/campaigns/hpsupportassistant/hpsupport.html?jumpid=va_r602_us/en/any/psg/p...

HPSA will automatically search for all the latest drivers, Firmware, BIOS for your HP Products

  1. Click My devices in the top menu, and then click Updates in the My PC or My notebook pane.

Click Updates in the My notebook pane

  2. Click Check for updates and messages to scan for new updates.

Updates list in HP Support Center

  3. Review the list of updates. Updates with a yellow information icon are recommended. Updates with a blue information icon are optional.

  4. Click the update name for a description, version number, and file size.

  5. Select the box next to any updates you want to install, and then click Download and install.

Also ensure Windows is up to date.

Select the Start  button, and then go to Settings  > Update & security  > Windows Update , and select Check for updates. If Windows Update says your device is up to date, you have all the updates that are currently available

Keep me posted how it goes

Thank you and have a wonderful day 😊

Thanks for the suggestion.  Everything was up to date on HP assistant and Windows and still no 2560x1440 option.  HP Assistant does not recognize my monitor, is it supposed to recognize it as a device?  It shows my PC and 2 printers but will not find the monitor.

It might not recognize your Monitor since the monitor does not have a specific software to communicate with HP Support Assistant

By any chance do you have another computer you could check the monitor with?
