Hi @suruchi8,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

That issue on your HP Victus, where half the screen freezes while switching tabs, usually points to a graphics driver or refresh rate conflict, often triggered by recent updates or GPU mode changes.

Recommended Fix for Screen Freezing / Partial Refresh

1. Update Graphics Drivers

  • Open Device Manager → Display adapters.
  • Update both Intel iGPU and NVIDIA/AMD GPU drivers & Update BIOS
  • Or download the latest from HP:
    👉 Official HP® Support

2. Switch GPU Mode

  • Open OMEN Gaming Hub → Graphics Switcher.
  • Toggle between Hybrid Mode and Discrete Mode.
  • Restart and check if the issue persists.

3. Adjust Refresh Rate

  • Right-click desktop → Display settings → Advanced display settings.
  • Set refresh rate to 60Hz or 120Hz (avoid mismatched settings).

4. Disable Hardware Acceleration

  • In browsers or apps where the freeze occurs:
    • Go to Settings → System → Disable hardware acceleration.
    • Restart the app.

5. Run HP Hardware Diagnostics

  • Restart → Press Esc repeatedly → F2 → Run Display Test.
  • If the test fails, it may be a hardware issue.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have an amazing day!
