My DVD drive will read CDs, both music and data e.g. Epsom installation disc, but it will not read DVDs, videos or data e.g. MS Office installation disc.  I ran the CD/ DVD diagnosis software - http://support.microsoft.com/kb/314060/?wa=wsignin1.0 and the final message said that the disc was not readable.

Hi, Try following the procedure under the sub-heading 'Let me fix it myself' on the link below to remove the Upper and Lower filters and see if this helps the issue.

AFter an update   for Win 10 my   CDDVDR no longer works.   Ever since that stupid little Icon showed up on the the lower icon bar.      Error message shows   either   no disk or   not supported.     I even bought an exteral  CDDVDR from Best Buy.   Geek Squad got the external drive to work once on DVD  but I haven't been able to get it to work    It says TS video,  TS audio, it will name the disc but that's it.   - nothing.

I am using a G72-B63NR notebook  originally a pentium   Windows 7     now upgraded to Win 10

Had a freind,  yes- he does work at NASA Glenn Research,  who thinks it's software but didn't have enough time to explore all.  I am a lowly baby boomer who is ready to throw all tech out the basement window to be trampled by my horses.

Please help!    Cosmicmama
