Thank you for posting on the HP Support Community.
- Have you made any hardware/software changes?
- Did this happen after a recent window or software update?
- Have you tried any troubleshooting steps?
- What happens when you start the computer
While you respond to that, let's try these steps:
Firstly, run Hard Reset:
-
Turn off the computer.
-
Remove the computer from any port replicator or docking station.
-
Disconnect all external connected peripheral devices such as USB storage devices, external displays, and printers.
-
Unplug the power cable from the computer.
-
For most desktop and all in one computer, press and hold the Power button for 15 seconds to reset.
Next step, BIOS default:
- Turn off the computer and wait five seconds.
- Press the Power button to start the computer and repeatedly press the F10 key to enter the BIOS setup menu.
- On the BIOS Setup screen, press F9 to select and load the BIOS Setup Default settings.
- Press F10 to Save and Exit.
- Use the arrow keys to select Yes, then press Enter when asked Exit Saving Changes?
- Follow the prompts to restart your computer and create a new power plan...
Creating your own power plan:
You can create your own power plan according to the performance you need from your computer. For example, to use your computer for watching movies, you might create a High-Performance power plan named Movies, then switch to that plan when desired. Follow the steps below to create your own power plan.
-
In Windows, search for and open Power Options.
-
In the left pane, click Create a power plan.
Figure: Create a power plan option

-
On the Create a power plan window, select a plan that has features you want to use in the power plan you are creating, enter a name for the new plan in the Plan name box, then click Next.
