This brand new computer is stuck in airplane mode. I have performed a factory reset and when the initial opening screens came back up it still can't recognize wireless connections. This is not a laptop so the keyboard trick doesn't work. Going into the settings doesn't help because Wireless connections I have vanished and the airplane mode link does not exist to select. I used this computer without any issue or difficulty on Tuesday evening and when I booted it back up on Wednesday evening, I had airplane mode. Can anyone please help with a new solution other than the same things which have already been suggested?? At this point the sledgehammer is looking like my only hope.

@DoriMiller Welcome to HP Forums Community!
If not done already, here's something you can check to access the Airplane mode options
-
Airplane mode gives you a quick way to turn off all wireless communications on your PC. Some examples of wireless communications are Wi-Fi, cellular, Bluetooth, GPS, and Near Field Communication (NFC).
-
To turn airplane mode on or off, select the Network icon on the taskbar, then select Airplane mode.
Let me know how that pans out,

This did NOT help. I have tried every suggestion in every post that I can find referencing airplane mode or Wireless networking that disappears. I have never been more angry, frustrated or disgusted because I now have a very expensive worthless freaking piece of plastic sitting on my desk being of absolutely no use whatsoever.
There has to be someone out there who has actually figured out how to get their wireless network connections back and get rid of this **bleep** useless airplane mode... please post something that helps!! Pertinent facts are:
1) this is a desktop unit not a laptop not a tablet
2) there is no way currently to turn off airplane mode the option to do so does not appear in any menu or setting
3)I can NOT connect to the internet to download any drivers because my wireless connections have vanished and the option to re-add them does not exist on any menu or setting.

@DoriMiller I understand your concern and I have brought your issue to the attention of an appropriate team within HP.
They will likely request information from you in order to look up your case details or product serial number.
Please look for a private message from an identified HP contact.
Additionally, keep in mind not to publicly post personal information (serial numbers and case details).
