Hi @Linda1005

Welcome to the HP Support Community! We're here to help you get back up and running.

Here’s a breakdown of how to remove a printer across Windows, macOS, and mobile devices. You’ll be done in under a minute on most systems.

On Windows 10 / Windows 11

  1. Go to Settings > Bluetooth & devices > Printers & scanners
  2. Locate the printer you want to remove
  3. Click on it, then choose Remove device
  4. Confirm by clicking Yes

If it doesn’t disappear, try restarting your computer.

On macOS (Ventura, Sonoma, or newer)

  1. Open System Settings
  2. Go to Printers & Scanners
  3. Select the printer you want to remove
  4. Click Remove Printer or the “–” button
  5. Confirm removal if prompted

Older macOS versions use System Preferences instead of System Settings, but steps are similar.

On iPhone/iPad (AirPrint-enabled printer)

Apple doesn’t store printers like a computer does—AirPrint detects them automatically when on the same Wi-Fi network. To "remove" a printer:

  • Go to Settings > Wi-Fi
  • Disconnect from the network your printer uses if you don’t want to see it
  • Alternatively, delete any saved printing shortcut from apps like HP Smart or Canon Print

On Android

  1. Go to Settings > Connected devices > Connection preferences > Printing
  2. Tap Default Print Service or your printer brand (e.g., HP Print Service Plugin)
  3. Turn off the service, or go into the app and remove the printer listing

Let me know if you're trying to clear out a stuck printer driver, disconnect it from your network entirely, or troubleshoot a re-add. I’ll tailor the next steps for that.
