i just need to say THANK YOU SOOOOOO MUCH!!!! This fixed my problem Spot on!!!! I made an hp account just so i could let you know you ROCK! I really appreciate the step by step help and it was very easy You made my head, day and homework time better 🙂

I fixed it. Don't update drivers or edit the registry. Do this:
1. Go to Search (point at upper right corner) and type Device Manager. Go there.
2. Expand Display Adapters
3. Right-click Intel(R) HD Graphics and Left-click Disable
4. Restart your computer
(Your screen resolution might be distorted now. Just ignore)
5. Go back to Device Manager, Display Adapters
6. Right-click Intel(R) HD Graphics and Left-click Enable
7. Restart again
Fixed!
(If at any point your screen goes blank and won't come back, just HOLD DOWN your power button until the computer shuts down. Then press power again to start up.)
