I have these light colored circles in the upper to middle left part of the screen and my mouse keeps jumping to these dots and I have virtually no control of my mouse. Is there a real solution to this problem as I have already hundreds of posts about it but no apparent actual fix.

Hello @awksone,

Welcome to the HP Forums, I hope you enjoy your experience! To help you get the most out of the HP Forums I would like to direct your attention to the HP Forums Guide First Time Here? Learn How to Post and More.

I have read your post on how ghost circles and erratic mouse behaviour appear on the screen of your desktop computer, and I would be happy to assist you in this matter!

To correct this issue, I recommend following the steps in this document on HP All-in-One PCs - Troubleshooting Touch Screen Issues (Windows 😎. This should help return the functionality to your touch screen. I also suggest following the steps in this document on HP PCs - Wireless Keyboard and Mouse Troubleshooting, which should help correct the intermittent cursor behaviour.

If the circles still appear, and the mouse still behaves erratically, I recommend returning your system back to a previous restore point before the issue occurred. This can be done by following the steps in this document on Using Microsoft System Restore (Windows 😎.

Should the problem continue, I suggest performing a backup and recovery of your operating system. This can be done by following the steps in this resource on Backing Up Your Files (Windows 😎, as well as Performing an HP system recovery (Windows 😎. This should return your system back to factory defaults.

If the issue continues, please contact our technical support for further assistance in this matter by clicking the link below to get the support number for your region.

it took me so long to think up an acceptible screen name that i forgot why i came here.

oh, yeah. it's about your solution to the strange circles that come and go. and the mouse that has seizures while another mouse twin just sits paralyed usually in a box..

you have troubleshooters on these computers. if something goes wrong, the trouble shooter should tell you what's wrong and fix it. Instead, you give directions that are like telling someone how to do brain surgery.  my suggestion is that you make a troubleshooter or maintenance program that actually works.

Thank you for the post.  I just purchased my computer and brought it home, did my initial set up and all of the sudden the mouse goes spastic on me (with the dormant mirror mouse on the left side) and there are circles on my screen.  I have only had it for two days.  Should I just take it back to the place I bought it (Costco) and demand a new one?  Don't feel like going through this master reset!I

Has there been an answer to this issue? Just set up the PC fresh out of the box and have the ghost mouse and studdering real mouse. I have the Pavilion 27 a010 touch all in one and I guess it's going back for probably a Lenovo or Dell. I've searched the forums and web but no answer except to do a restore or how to set up the PC, really... I can get the mouse to settle down and work alone by spreading the ghost touch until it dissapears but it comes back in a few minutes. Is there any help or an answer out ther???

Thanks for the reply and I guess I'll try the hardware tests. I'm not sure if I was clear but the pc is straight from the box... no updates, no additional software, no changes whatsoever. The last person to touch the computer was someone from HP that hopefully quality tested. All I did was plug it in and like magic, a phantom mouse and a flickering optical one.

I dont see see how it could be a driver or conflict issue so hardware seems to be the logical choice but no wait, we're talking windows 10 so who knows what hidden gem of a glitch could be hiding within. Anyway, if anyone knows what may be causing this and a fix rather than turning off touch (if I can) please let me know. This computer is used for business so the frustration level is quite high.

thanks in advance...

Before you try that, it looks worthwhile to ask Costco to try a different mouse on it and see it that fixes the problem.

If not, asking for a replacement computer then looks reasonable.

Tried a different mouse and keyboard, in fact 2. Same... I can get it to stop for a few minutes by spreading the touch screen area near the ghost mouse with a 2 finger gesture. Windows is looking to update 10 to the anniversary release so maybe I'll try and see what happens.
