Has there been any response/solution from HP yet on this issue? I'm not about to risk my PC and everything on it if there's still a way to fix the issues safely.

Please change my status from "SOLVED" to "OPEN".

 

I prematurely thought the problem was solved because I quit getting notified that an update was available.

However, my BIOS is still

AMI 80.12, 1/15/2014.

I believe that is out of date.  All of the other posters on in this conversation show later dates than mine.

 

I would like to stay on the interested parties list until this issue is resolved.

 HP has indeed pulled the update.  No one's system is at risk and you may continue to use your computer.  Everyone here is still on my contact list as events change.

I'd be interested to know as well. I've had no problems with the pc since btw. Although I can't understand how the wrong BIOS update was ever posted. It's made me think twice about "updates" since.
