Hi everyone, I thought I'd finally make a post about this somewhere in hopes that there is some way to at least ease up this issue if not fix it completely.
I purchased this desktop computer around 2014 I want to say, and it has been a great PC so far that has never given me any trouble - except for one thing. Occasionally I like playing a few games and such on my PC, but getting them to run in decent quality has been impossible without extreme lag that's honestly so bad that it rendered me unable to even play. It was frustrating, but I suffered through it for a bit until recently - I just bought a new game with obviously really good graphics and is a pretty busy first-person online shooter. So, a lot is going on. I expected impossible lag, and that's pretty much what I got. I just really don't want to feel like I wasted money on this game, but at the same time keeping the display settings for the game as low as they can possibly be (making it all pixelated, hard to see, and just really choppy for what I paid for) just to make it run kind of okay is a bit of a bummer.
So what I'm trying to get at here is, is there any way I can fix this? Even if it means having to purchase something extra, I'm honestly willing to give it a shot. And I'm not even expecting to run the game with perfect, pristine settings where it runs super smoothly while having the greatest graphics settings possible in beautiful 1080p with a fantastic framerate or whatever. I know I'd actually just need to get a computer FOR gaming for something like that, but I also don't think I should have to deal with the bare minimum.
I tried clearing out some space on my computer and whatnot, and even adjusted my system settings to run for best performance (reverting it to a bit lower quality...I noticed the smoothing for text and stuff is gone and dragging windows is just a frame outline etc.) just to see if it'd help at all. My computer has Intel(R) HD Graphics 4600.
I hope there can be some way to make things a little better. I'm willing to do whatever is actually possible, aside from going out and buying a new PC haha. If I would have known this desktop wasn't right for stuff like this I obviously wouldn't have purchased it, but I'm hoping there is a way to just work around this and get things going.
Thank you!

Thanks so much for getting back to me.
My full product name and number is "HP Envy 23-o014 All-in-One Desktop PC," and the product number is F3E94AA#ABA
Hopefully I did this right. I went on the software and driver downloads page and located my model however, to try and update drivers or something just to see if I could manage on my own and it didn't seem to work.

Hi @ereich,
Thanks for getting back to me.
You can try downloading and installing the lastest graphic driver. Intel Graphics Driver.
This computer is not a high end gaming computer, there is no way to change the video card. All- in one computer are great for e-mail, working, student, game apps, just not go at high graphic MMO RPG or shooter.
Hope the graphic driver help. Please keep me informed of how things went and I will gladly do all I can to help you.

Okay, I installed it but it unfortunately gave me the same error message as yesterday. It says "The driver being installed is not validated for this computer. Please obtain the appropriate driver from the computer manufacturer."
This is confusing to me? I'm not sure why it wouldn't be the appropriate driver if it matches up to my model. Does this maybe mean I need a disk?
