Hi there
Same problem. Have reinstalled windows and now need Ethernet controller driver. Popped the cover off and the Ethernet number is
JFM31U1A 01U5W 51FD 1000BT

Hi:

Those numbers won't help me find the drivers you need.

You need to go to the device manager. Click on the network controller needing drivers. Click on the details tab.

In the Properties drop down list, select the second item (Hardware ID's).

Post the top string of characters you see.

Those will ID the model of the network controller that needs drivers.

Sorry I'm stuck. Gone to control panel, system properties, device manager and click on Ethernet controller but no details tab?

Hi:

Every device has a hardware ID like the one you see at the top of the page.

Please see if this link below with pictures is of help to you.

Tried that - when I click properties the three tabs are General, Driver and Resources (not Details). Under Reaources it states the device isn't using any because it has a problem (no driver 😞 )

I take it you are using an old version of Windows XP then?

You will need to upgrade it to SP2/SP3 in order to get the hardware ID's.

Otherwise, you will need to pull the card and look for a 6 digit dash 3 digit part number (123456-001).

Maybe with that I can find out what model wireless card it is.
