yesterday I spoke to customer support of HP. they have disclosed the bios password for HP DS 400 as hp&40051 and it has worked.

Could you please let me know that how did you upgraded your DreamScreen 400? coz, I'm trying to upgrade it for long time but I couldn't get proper information regarding this. It would be more helpful and appreciated if you share the information.

you may get better responses if you describe in detail what you tried and the problems you faced, or specify exactly what information you are looking for.

be aware that the dreamscreen 400 was initially being sold with hp's "dreamscreen operating system" (fedora core 12 with what looks like an AdobeAir app on top of it) and later with windows 7 (perhaps even windows xp). so someone like ritesh ahuja may have upgraded from hp-installed windows 7 to windows 8.

to install windows 7 or 8 on a device that came with the "hp dreamscreen os" installed, you would need the bios password which has been already given out in this thread.
