Just upgraded my RAM .. installed 6Gb.. 2-2Gb DIMMS and 2-1Gb. My 6110f recognizes the 6Gb but states... "only 4.24 usable. I followed your "paired" slots statement here... now my pc recognizes the 6Gb.. but only 5Gb is usable. I suppose my option is when I have the funds to upgrade to 4-2Gb DIMMS. Thanks for your info! J

Tried to upgrade my HP Pavilion p6620f systems memory from 6 gig to 16 gig like the specs say can happen
the crucial ddr3-1333 that the specs call for won't work I get a blue screen. I'm running windows 7 64bit can't figure out why it won't go. Any thoughts?

It sounds like you should be alright.
Have you tried the usual things ? Such as: returning to the identical original set-up ? Trying the new memory one DIMM at at a time ? Ensuring the DIMMs are properly seated ? etc.
You say you get a blue screen. Does anything appear before this ? Is there disk activity ? Does the computer beep ? (beeps are common with RAM problems) Can you even enter BIOS set-up ?
What Crucial p/ns have you got ? Try asking Crucial support. Are (still) under guarantee ? Crucial are usually very good.
Please let us know how you get on, and if you solve the problem, how you did it.

The specific item you refer to is
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820148493
The 'specifications' for your computer can be found here:
http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c02996667
This HP document does not contain all the necessary information to enable you choose RAM for an upgrade, though it does say that your PC can be upgraded to 8GB of RAM. I would guess that that is arranged in 2 x 4GB, and you would 2 SO-DIMMs each of 4GB for maximum memory.
Going to
http://www.crucial.com/store/listparts.aspx?model=Pavilion%20g7-1263nr&Cat=RAM
the Crucial site web page for memory for the the HP Pavilion G7 1263nr, it gives a little more useful information on the memory requirements & capacities for this computer:
Memory Type: DDR3 PC3-10600, DDR3 (non-ECC)
Maximum Memory: 8GB
Slots: 2
So I would say that that memory would work in your PC, although it is not the precise part that Crucial recommend.
Check any memory you buy is PC-10600 (DDR3-1333) and is unbuffered and non-ECC, and is 1.35V operation
You need a 64-bit OS to benefit from any upgrade which your model comes with by default
As nowhere on these two sites mention dual-channel architecture (but it might have it), it might be cheaper to buy only 1 x 4GB SO-DIMM as an upgrade, although most manufacturers do not recommend mixing their products with those from another manufacturer in the same PC. Even if your PC has dual channel capability (which it probably does ?) you might not see a performance increase with matched DIMMs (as you would get in 2 SO-DIMM kit as you are thinking of buying) over unmatched (buying 1 x 4GB SO-DIMM)
a program called Speccy will probably give the nature of memory already nstalled in your computer You might be able to guess its manufacturer from that.
Don't forget there are other memory manufactuers other than Crucial and other suppliers apart Newegg

yes thank you. so just make sure that any ram im looking at is un buffered and non ecc. thats very helpful. and i think i would just get two of the same make and brand memory just to be safe if my laptop isnt dual-channel architecture.

also. do you know if can upgrade the processor? because my laptop comes with 2.5GHz/1.9GHz VISION A4 Technology from AMD with AMD Dual-Core A4-3300M Accelerated Processor. and im looking to be able to support 2 GHz Intel Dual Core processor

Personally I do not know anything processor upgrades for your PC
The HP specifications page mentions nothing about it, and I've only looked at it this morning. Maybe there isn't a processor upgrade for this machine.
Anyway that question is not relevant in this thread, this topic is about memory (the memory you pointed should be fine btw)
I suggest you start a new thread on 'processor upgrade for Pavilion G7 1263nr' on this forum (HP), or on another forum, or even contact HP though they'll probably charge you for some useless waffle, but you could try.

I have a Compaq Presario CQ5210F. It comes with 3 GB RAM memory (1 module of 1 GB and another with 2GB). I know the motherboard has two(2) 240-pin memory modules. My question is if I have Windows 7 Home Premium (that can handle up to 16 GB of RAM), can I install 2 modules of 4GB RAM each for a total of 8GB? I saw these 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800 (PC2 6400) modules in eBay for sale.
Can I use them in my desktop computer?
