Graphics card -radeon HD 6570 drivers are up to date.

Tried the scaling opt, thats at 0%.

Hi there @derrickd,

Welcome back to the HP Support Forums!  I understand that your new display is showing a black border around the display.  I am happy to give you a hand with this.

What is the model number of the display you are using?

Have you tested it with a different computer or device?

What type of video connection are you using?

Do any other displays have the same issue when connected to this same computer?

Please let me know when you can.

no i didn't connect to another pc, but I tried the vga,and the dvi and its the same.

I'm currently using  HDMI.

No the previous monitor is a HP w1907 19" and that worked perfectly.

Thanks for looking into it

Thank you for that additional information.

Looking at the HP Pavilion w2338h Monitor - Product Specifications, the factory-set resolution is 1920 x 1080.

What is the resolution being output by your display adapter?

Looking up the computer itself, it does not have any specific drivers available for Windows 10. Have you upgraded to a new graphics adapter , or do you have a Windows 10 driver installed for the original graphics adapter?

Also please see this document: HP and Compaq Desktop PCs - Black Border around Screen when Connecting through DVI or HDMI

I hope this helps.

Correction, it did go full screen but only runnung at 1440 x 900 anything higher and it goes back to black lines down the sides.

The GT 240 has a max vga  resolution  of 2048 x 1536

Hdmi  of 2560 x 1600. so i'm not seeing why it will not go full screen.

I just downloaded the drivers for win 10 and that didn't work:mansurprised::mansad:
