Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have an Omen 30L Gaming Desktop and the Function Keys, (F1-F12) have their own volume and video functions. I've seen tutorials on the internet on how to get into the computer's BIOS set up but the Omen has a different BIOS set up so all those videos online are kind of useless. I've also seen people say to "Hold FN and press the FN Lock Button" but I am currently using one of those cheap keyboards that come with the Omen Gaming Desktop that I own that don't have the FN Lock button. During the month of March, I will get a Steelseries Apex Pro TKL keyboard. I wonder if that has any effect on my problem. But I am trying to play Minecraft and the FN keys have functions which means that I have to hold FN down to use the functions that are in Minecraft.

If know how to, please tell me how to navigate the HP Omen's BIOS system to turn it off. Thanks.

@Noxuming , welcome to the Community.

The engineers at HP decided if you have a multi-media keyboard, the multi-media keys on the keyboard should be set according.  This is why you don't have a FN lock key.  You may be able to find a third-party app that will change it for you.  There is no setting in the BIOS/UEFI for this purpose.

If that is true, then it's **bleep**!...A Multimedia Keyboard does NOT mean that the priority of the user changes!

I'm now struggling with the same issue on my All-In-One 27 HP since I bought it... where can we place our complaints @ HP to be heard?
Do you know @Old_geekster ?

Thnx in advance

Yes, but is there a function in the BIOS that lets you turn off the F1-F12 keys, right? Or is there not?

No, this is why I mentioned the third-party app.  There is no way to change the setup.

hi
unfortunately the only possible solutions currently are software, or hardware replacement
There is a solution, but that is to block the key, and you may break the keyboard
Unfortunately either this is not suitable or user feedback
