Microsoft Windows 11

Hi all

I seem to have a problem that many users have - where the Omen Hub never opens - it just stays on the small box with various phrases appearing etc:

https://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Gaming-Desktops/omen-gaming-hub-never-loads-i-always-have-a-spinning-c...

https://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Desktop-Software-and-How-To-Questions/Omen-Gaming-Hub-not-starting-on-...

I 'reset' the app as per the advice.  And that makes it load after I reboot my PC - but if I close the app down (after it was open) or restart my PC it stops working again.

My PC is brand new.

Any other ideas?  Thanks.

  2. Execute Windows Update to latest version and all optional updates (especially to install "Realtek - Net - xx.xx.xxx.xxxx"), then restart.
  3. Launch “HP Support Assistant”, check for updates for the “OMEN Gaming Hub SDK Package”. Follow the on-screen instructions to update the app.

Which version of Omen Gaming Hub?

HP Recommended

Hi - version 1101.2209.4.0

It worked fine for the first week I had it - then stopped working as noted above (had the PC for 2 weeks).

Hi @Ub6424 - I've had bad experience of creating restore points before - I've had issues where my PC really started performing badly etc.

What is the restore point for?  (i.e. why do you ask me to do that first).

Bizarrely the app worked last night - no idea why, it was after Windows had installed some updates.  But back to normal again today (i.e. not opening) indeed it stopped working when I closed it down and tried to re-open it (so I didn't turn off the PC - I just closed the app down...tried to re-open it and it wouldn't open).

System Restore is a feature designed to create a snapshot of the current working state and save it as a "restore point" when important changes are detected on your computer. If a critical problem occurs after installing an update, driver, or app, or after modifying the system settings incorrectly in the Registry, you can use a restore point to revert your laptop or desktop computer to an earlier point to resolve the issue without losing your files.

Thank you - but unfortunately Microsoft Store also doesn't work for me.  It won't install any apps - when I click Install or 'Get' it simply hangs.

I've followed steps on sites like: https://www.guidingtech.com/fix-microsoft-store-click-get-install-nothing-happens-issue/ but unfortunately nothing fixes it.  Therefore I can't update anything via this app.

The only apps which seem to work are 'Xbox' and 'Steam' for me.
