HP Omen 45L GT-22x
Microsoft Windows 11

I basically turn on my computer. This is just after last night and it just goes to a black screen. But I can still move around my cursor and just sits there. Loading fans are fine. Computer sounds fine, but it doesn't seem like anything is actually opening up on that computer.

Hi @Dinnerwinmer463, Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
It sounds like your HP Omen 45L GT-22x is experiencing a black screen issue with cursor, which can be caused by a number of issues, including corrupted graphics drivers, Windows updates, or system file corruption. Since you cannot access BIOS most of the time, it may indicate a hardware-related issue as well.

Try These Steps:

Hard Reset the PC

  1. Turn off the computer completely by holding the power button for 10-15 seconds.
  2. Disconnect the power cable and any external devices (USB, monitors, etc.).
  3. Hold the power button again for 30 seconds to discharge power.
  4. Reconnect the power cable and turn it on.

Try Booting into Safe Mode

If you can’t get into BIOS, try force booting into Safe Mode:

  1. Turn off the PC and turn it back on three times (force shut down during boot by holding the power button).
  2. On the third restart, Windows should load Automatic Repair Mode.
  3. Select Advanced options > Troubleshoot > Advanced options > Startup Settings.
  4. Press 4 or F4 to boot into Safe Mode.
  5. If it boots, try uninstalling recent Windows updates or graphics drivers.

Check Display Output (For Multi-Monitor Setup)

  • If you have multiple monitors, try plugging into a different display port on your GPU or motherboard.
  • Try booting with only one monitor connected.
  • If you have an integrated GPU, try switching to that.

Check BIOS Access (CMOS Reset if Needed)

Since you cannot access BIOS most of the time, try:

  1. Spamming the BIOS Key (Esc, F10, or Del) right after pressing the power button.
  2. Clearing CMOS by:
    • Turning off the PC and unplugging it.
    • Removing the CMOS battery from the motherboard for 5 minutes.
    • Reinserting it and trying again.

Reinstall Windows (As a Last Resort)

If nothing works, you may need to reinstall Windows using a bootable USB.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.

So my pc is the HP Omen 45L GT-22xxx, and I have tried to safe boot but I cant, "since my bitlocker is in the way and I can't get my password since I have to use my phone to send the code which is not in use anymore" I don't wanna have to purchase windows 11 pro again I'd rather just have it, is their a way to bypass the bitlocker recovery key I never enabled it to begin with, and on my laptop I can't get the code cause of the issue I stated in the quotations. I really need help here before I send it to get fixed by Best Buy, since I have warranty on it.

If your PC starts with a black screen but a movable cursor, try restarting or booting into Safe Mode. Check display settings, restart Windows Explorer, or update graphics drivers. If issues persist, run System Restore or scan for corrupt files. A system reset or reinstall may be needed as a last resort.
