Ours was a fault they tried to deny fixing this but the technician they finally sent after me screaming down the phone multiple times agreed it was a fault. As did the guy in the shop but the manager in the shop who had no idea about computers didn't want to refund either as HP are notorious for poor refund on goods.
It's a defect in. The design the hinge is too tight for the length and the grill for the speaker is too close to the hinge poorly made plastic. It ox a laptop and is meant to be opened and shut after all!!! Using this as a normally functioning laptop one u open and it will crack and HP even with photos will blame the customer accusing u of dropping it. I have about one hundred emails and phone calls from them trying to get a refund too almost two months and a hell of a lot of stress. Disgusted and will never spend my money like that again from such an item with new one we paid extra insurance and went for a different brand more expensive though with a higher guarantee of actually performing which has been 100% better I was ready to go to the acc and it. Was a disgrace it took so long and we were treated like fools on the phone initially they were laughing in the background on the first phone call. The phone operator appoi louse and told me sorry we are currently having a Christmas party. Very unprofessional call centre in India and the Philippines finally spoke to a better person in Singapore but the issues was that I had no respect for them by then as they absolutely treated us like fools.

Hi,
My HP OMEN has the same problem, the right hinge has been fatigue wearing the plastice, which has cracked and at some point will break, leaving the laptop unusable. As this is a clear design failing, what is the situation regarding getting this fixed, or the laptop replaced. Mine is also out of warranty.
regards
Kev J.
