Hello @Rogeeve
@Rogeeve wrote:@Ub6424 Hey. Thanks. I did try that. What happened is that the BIOS updates complete and then it would restart to write the new data in what I describe as a Ms DOS screen but as soon as it starts to write the blocks the unit shuts on its own and this repeats itself. Any more ideas? Is the PC bricked?
The Bios recovery mechanism does not work, Bios backup defective or Bios chip defective. What should I say ?
Recommendation and solution |
(1) HP warranty valid -> Contact HP Support for service repair
or
(2) HP warranty expired:
The BIOS can be reflashed with a "programmer" by a professional computer (chip level) repair store. But there is no guarantee that the computer will continue to work 100% after that.
Give it a try ...
Kind regards

Hello @Rogeeve
Sorry to hear that you are having problems ... I would like to help you.
(1) Power off notebook
(2) Disconnect charger
(3) Press and hold <power> button for 30 seconds
(4) Connect charger
(5) Follow --->>> BIOS Recovery Reinstall with USB
Use another Windows 10 computer to create <USB flash drive>
HP Notebook System BIOS Update (AMD Processors) | F.15 Rev.A | 13.7 MB | Sep 2, 2022 | Download |
Use a FAT32-formatted small <USB flash drive> (Type USB 2.0)
(6) Repeat reflash procedures:
- windows + b <USB flash drive> not connected
- windows + v <USB flash drive> not connected
- windows + b <USB flash drive> connected
- windows + v <USB flash drive> connected
Keep me updated
Kind regards
