OMEN by HP 16.1 inch Gaming Laptop PC 16-wf0000 (7B9S4AV)
Microsoft Windows 11

I have an OMEN 16-wf0061TX (834U5PA) and after updating to BIOS version "F.20 Rev.A" I have lost the option to undervolt AND cannot update or rollback the bios.

Using the official HP support website for drivers.

I cant update to f.21 or any older version as the setup says "this bios update is not compatible with your device" even though I got it from the official website for my specific laptop. Intel XTU also does not work.

Hi @hello324,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

It sounds like you're dealing with a couple of significant issues after updating your BIOS. Here are some steps you might try to address these problems:

1. Check for BIOS Update Restrictions

HP BIOS Updates: HP often locks certain features in their BIOS updates or restricts BIOS updates to prevent potential issues. Check if there are any notes in the BIOS update release notes or HP’s official forums related to restrictions or changes in BIOS options.

BIOS Compatibility: If you’re seeing “this BIOS update is not compatible with your device” messages, it could be that HP has implemented specific security measures or checks that prevent rolling back or updating beyond a certain version.

2. Revert BIOS Settings

Reset BIOS to Default: Sometimes, reverting BIOS settings to their default can help restore certain features or clear any conflicts. Access the BIOS setup during boot (usually by pressing a key like F2, F10, or DEL) and choose the option to restore defaults.

Check for Options: In the BIOS setup, look for any options related to "Advanced" or "Performance" settings. Sometimes undervolting options may be hidden under different menus.

3. Using HP Support Tools

HP Support Assistant: Use HP Support Assistant to check for any available updates or troubleshoot BIOS-related issues. Sometimes HP provides additional tools or patches through their support software.

HP Recovery: If you're unable to update or roll back the BIOS through conventional methods, HP’s recovery options might help. Use the HP Support website or contact HP Support directly for guidance on BIOS recovery or rollback.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
