I just replaced my 3 years old battery by a new one because the capacity went low. But as I opened my Laptop, I was surprised by the view of a swollen battery. The photos show the bad old battery and the good new battery. The new battery works fine.
However, the battery control Panel of Linux shows strange voltage during charging:
13,0 at 70%
13,1V at 75%
13,2V at 80-99%
12,9V at 100%
That means up to 4,4V per cell. Is that OK or a dangerous issue?
Workaround: After a BIOS upgrade I found a new option where I can limit the charger to 80%, which will hopefully protect my battery a litle.
