Hello again,
i have a problem with my Bios Version.
At the moment i am using F.22 but there is already version F.26 outside.
Windows try to install them by them own and since them my F.22 is in Warning in the Device Manager
"Equipment could not be started Code 10"
"Firmware update failed"
Also if i try to update it manual with a prepared USB stick by the HP tool i receive the following error message :
"The System Bios update failed.
Unable to get BIOS information from system or image file. "
Now i have no more information what to do and i am afraid of the next time if Windows try to make an Firmware Update again because it always end in a Bluescreen , after that its restarting and Windows is luckily working again but update was not working.

Hi @Balder84,
Thank you for the response
Let's try a few more steps.
Check Your Current BIOS Version
Press Win + R, type msinfo32, and hit Enter.
Look for BIOS Version/Date and confirm you’re on F.22.
Ensure F.26 is the correct update for your Intel Core H45 Processor.
Disable Windows Automatic Firmware Updates
Since Windows keeps attempting and failing the update:
Open Device Manager (Win + X → Device Manager).
Find Firmware, right-click, and select Disable.
Open Windows Update settings → Advanced options.
Turn OFF Receive updates for other Microsoft products.
Prepare USB for a Manual BIOS Update
Use an empty USB (at least 8GB) and format it to FAT32.
Download F.26 BIOS Update from HP’s support site.
Run the downloaded file, choose Create Recovery USB, and follow on-screen instructions.
Flash BIOS via HP BIOS Recovery Mode
Turn off the laptop.
Press and hold Win + B, then power it on while holding the keys.
Release keys when you see an HP BIOS Recovery screen.
Follow the prompts to install F.26 from your USB.
Reset BIOS to Default
If the issue persists, enter the BIOS menu:
Restart your PC and press F10 repeatedly to enter BIOS.
Select Restore Defaults or Load Optimized Defaults.
Save and exit.
Check HP Support Assistant
Open HP Support Assistant and see if it detects the correct update.
If not, uninstall and reinstall HP Support Assistant from HP’s website.
I hope this helps.

Hi @Balder84,
Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding your laptop!
We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.
Try these steps:
1. Verify Current BIOS Version and Compatibility
- Ensure the BIOS version you are trying to install (F.26) is compatible with your specific computer model.
- Visit the HP Software and Driver Downloads page and confirm the details.
2. Prepare the USB for BIOS Update
- Use a clean and properly formatted USB stick. Ensure it is formatted to FAT32.
- Follow HP’s instructions precisely to prepare the USB stick using the HP tool.
3. Perform a Manual Update
- Restart your computer and enter the BIOS setup (usually by pressing F10, Esc, or Delete during boot).
- Use the BIOS update utility within the setup to perform the update directly from the USB stick.
4. Resolve Windows Device Manager Errors
- Clear any pending BIOS updates or attempts.
- Uninstall the device showing "Code 10" error in Device Manager and reinstall after addressing the BIOS issue.
5. Use HP BIOS Update Utility
- Download and use the HP BIOS Update utility designed for your specific model. This can sometimes handle updates better than Windows or manual methods:
- Go to HP Software and Driver Downloads.
- Download the BIOS update utility for your model and follow the instructions.
6. Reset BIOS Settings to Default
- Sometimes, resetting the BIOS settings to default can resolve issues. Enter BIOS setup during boot and choose to load defaults.
I hope this helps.

Hello.
All steps already done and no help
With the correct Bios its also tricky .
Like you see it shows me two versions i can only use the first one at least if i would try the second one it shows me in the install routine that its not for my Laptop so i dont try it for a manual update.
If i use HP Support Assistant to check for updates he dont show me any new Bios Version at all.
