Hi @zampaluca,
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.
Thanks so much for considering HP as one of your options! We appreciate the time you've taken to research and compare. It sounds like you’ve already done a lot of thoughtful analysis based on your needs, and we’d love to help you further.
You're right that both devices have their strengths, and choosing between a traditional laptop and a 2-in-1 depends a lot on personal usage style. While HP displays are designed to be durable and tested for long-term reliability, we completely understand your concern about longevity, especially with moving parts in convertible designs.

Hi @zampaluca,
Thank you for letting me know. This is a cosmetic part, and the L-shaped dark spot looks like it's created due to some impact from another device placed on the Pc This is not covered in warranty. However, to get more help, please share the Pc Serial number so I can try to find the warranty details to help better.
Please help us with your HP unit serial number or the product number in a private message for further assistance.
Here is the link to find the product Serial number: - Click here
