I have an issue with my HP Omen Laptop 17-an012dx. I can turn it on, however I have a blank black screen with a flashing caps lock light that blinks once per second five times then does a triple blink after the fifth one. How can I get this laptop healthy again?

Hello @Adoanha
That blink code indicates a system board error.
Will it let you access the UEFI DIagnostics? Press the power button and rapidly tap the F2 key until the Diagnostics menu opens. Run the extensive test for everything. HP How to use Diagnostics
If it will not allow that either, you need to contact HP Support for warranty repairs.

Yeah I can’t get to the diagnostics screen by pressing f2 at startup. So the next step would be to contact hp support about a warranty fix. The thing is that I did not purchase warranty on this laptop. How much will it cost me?

If I understand standard warranty correctly, that implies that on purchase I am guaranteed one year of protection (not in terms of self inflicted damage like spilling water on your laptop). Then yes I am under standard warranty still. Otherwise I opted out of buying warranty for this laptop. If you can please educate me on this matter I would appreciate it!

If you are still under the standard one year warranty, then you are covered for defects and hardware failures.
Use the link I gave above and follow the prompts. It will take you to Support Services and you can chat with a Support Rep.
They will most likely send you a box (postage paid) to mail the laptop to them for repairs. There are usually no costs to you. If there were, they would tell you first.
