I want to connect 2 monitors to the new OMEN 15.6" laptop. My laptop has the NVIDIA® GeForce® GTX 1050 Ti 4GB graphics card installed.
Can I simply plug one monitor into the HDMI port and another monitor into the USB Type-C port using a DisplayPort adaptor? Or do I need to buy some sort of dock?
Many thanks,
Paul.

Works.
I never had the need to do this, but I can confirm it will work now.
Mini DP and HDMI both connected to monitors and the laptop screen also working.
My model uses a GTX 1070 but the 1050ti will also support it.
Had to use a Mini to HDMI adapter, but that wont matter where you're concerned.
BTW I can also confirm the Mini DP to HDMI branded for Apple works on Windows also. A connector is a connector.

As far as I know, it will. I have not heard of any complaints. That card will support it.
I have an Omen 17 with both HDMI and Displayport, but have not tried two externals on it. I will test it this afternoon and reply back with results just to be certain before I say go for it.
