HJi @Itay7,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

I understand your external monitor stopped working after switching your HP Omen 17 laptop’s graphics mode in the Omen app. Let’s go through a few steps to troubleshoot this.

Check Monitor & Cable

Ensure the external monitor is powered on.

Verify the cable (HDMI/DisplayPort) is securely connected to both the monitor and laptop.

Try using a different cable or port if available.

Power Cycle Devices

Turn off the laptop and monitor completely.

Unplug the monitor from power and the laptop from the external display.

Wait 30 seconds, reconnect, and turn on both devices.

Use Laptop Screen Toggle

Press Windows + P to open the display projection menu.

Select Second screen only to force output to the external monitor.

Cycle through Duplicate, Extend, and Second screen only options to check for display output.

Check Graphics Mode

Since the issue occurred after changing modes in the Omen app, open the Omen Gaming Hub.

Switch the graphics mode back to Optimized or the previous mode you were using.

Restart the laptop and see if the monitor receives a signal.

Update or Rollback Graphics Drivers

Press Windows + X > Device Manager > Display adapters.

Right-click NVIDIA RTX 3070 and select Update driver.

If updating doesn’t work, choose Rollback driver to the previous version.

Check NVIDIA Control Panel

Open NVIDIA Control Panel > Set up multiple displays.

Ensure the external monitor is detected and enabled.

BIOS/UEFI & Display Settings

If the external monitor still doesn’t work, restart and enter BIOS/UEFI (usually Esc or F10).

Check for Discrete/Hybrid graphics settings and set it back to the default configuration.

Save and exit, then test the external display.

Test Another Monitor

If possible, connect a different external monitor to verify if the issue is with the monitor or the laptop output.

I hope this helps.
