Hello.

For quite a while now, I noticed that my pc always overheats and locked itself in order to protect itself from damaging the hardware. Using an application called SpeedFan, I noticed that one fan, called Fan1, has (idle) 1800 RPM. I don't know if it's normal or not, but the other fan, called Fan2, runs at 256 RPM. I will provide images of all this information, together with the temperatures.

Screenshot (1).pngSo, in the following paragraph, I will explain pretty much everything, so I'll try to be as clear as possible. 

 

As You can all see, my pc is idle. When I open CSGO, for example, Fan1 starts rotating faster, arriving at a value of 4300 RPM. Fan2, however, does the complete opposite. It gets slower and slower, arriving at an embarrassing 140 RTM. I read a lot of post and a lot of people said that Fan1 is the processor, but I'm not sure in my case. The graphics card stays at around 67-77°C pretty much always. Never actually notice the GPU going more than 78°C.  The processor and the cores, however, arrive at temperatures around 85-95°C, even arriving at 100°C where, at that temperatures, locks itself to prevent further degradation. This is unacceptable. 

 

In the following paragraph, I will describe all the methods I've used to fix the issue:

 

I reinstalled Windows many times, installed only legit and safe apps, tried to go in the bios and see if I can somehow tweak with the settings of the fan, but this pc does not have the feature for some reason. I tried downloading apps that could at least identify the fans and let me change the settings, but no luck.

And yes, I did think of updating or reinstalling the Bios. That's another problem that I encountered. 

HP Support Assistant, together with the official site of HP where I insert my pc serial number and check for drivers, both recommend the Bios F.56 Rev. A.. I currently have the F.55. Upon downloading and running the installation, I get this screenScreenshot (2).png

I tried everything. Put a USB and copied the image of the Bios (the second option that on the photo you can see it's selected). Entered the Bios by closing the pc, pressed ESC a lot of times, entered on UEFI, selected all the good options. Still nothing. 

 

Yes, I did try to reinstall the Bios F.55. The repair was slow but completed the install. I still have the same problems as nothing has ever changed. 

 

In addition, I have external peripherals like a razer chroma keyboard and an Asus evolve mouse, and I have to remove them upon booting the pc because if not else, I will get the continuous caps lock light blinking forever.

 

 I really need this pc for school work and I need the performance, plus of course playing a game from time to time. So the situation is urgent, I need this fixed asap.

 

For clarification, it's an Omen by HP 17-w102nl. I put my laptop on large books one at each side with a massive fan behind me so it can have a lot of space to suck all the air. Around the end of may I could see these problems. Maybe because of the hot I don't know, but it never did like this. 

 

Maybe the Bios is connected with the fan and booting problem. But again, I tried everything and I just can't update it or downgrade it to a version where it worked, like the version before F.55.

 

I really require immediate assistance.

I would like to add that most probably the fan that is that runs on low RPM is the fan of the processor, because, in a game called Dead by Daylight, at everything at low settings (always used to play on ultra), the GPU is at a solid 65°C, while the processor was at 95°C.  It went down to an RPM of 140. Please fix this

Fans are controlled by heat sensors. Zone a is hotter zone b therefore its sensor forces the fan to work more. That explains why one fan spins more than the other.  From my view, this is a good design.

I understand this, but the problem is that that when I play a game that before was running fine, now it overheats, and Fan2 does NOT increase, but rather decrease, and the processor can arrive at 95%.  When the fan is at 3850 RPM and the other one is at 140 RPM, it may be a good design, but I don't see it working for me. the GPU stays at around 75°C, when the processors stays at 95°C

Don’t worry, I assure you I will try my best to get this sorted.

 

I would like to inform you that 90C is normal on the gaming computer. I recommend you use the Omen command center to change the settings which suit your needs.
