I have a HP OMEN 16-B1371TX LAPTOP (Intel i7-12th Generation, RTX 3070TI, 16GB ram). I spent a lot of money on this.
My Games are crashing after 10-15 minutes into it. If I lower the settings, it might stay for another 5-10 minutes and then it crashes.
I have done all the things recommended, like updating chipset software, nVidia drivers, Windows Updates and so on. It is still the same.
I am using 3dMark to test my laptop display driver. Sometimes the tests go through and sometimes the tests crash in the middle.
My laptop is still under warranty.
Can I get laptop exchanged with a new version?
Thanks,

Hi @CreativeArts,
Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding your laptop!
We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.
Try these steps:
1. Cooling and Overheating Issues
Clean Dust:
- Use compressed air to clean dust out of the vents and fans.
Check Ventilation:
- Ensure the laptop is on a flat, hard surface to allow proper airflow.
- Consider using a cooling pad.
OMEN Gaming Hub Settings:
- Open the OMEN Gaming Hub.
- Check and adjust the performance settings to ensure optimum cooling.
2. Monitor System Temperatures
Download Hardware Monitoring Software:
- Tools like HWMonitor or MSI Afterburner can monitor system temperatures.
Observe Temperatures:
- Check if temperatures spike before crashes. If they do, overheating might be the issue.
3. Check for Software Conflicts
Background Processes:
- Press Ctrl + Shift + Esc to open Task Manager.
- Check for heavy background processes consuming system resources.
Disable Unnecessary Programs:
- Disable startup programs and background applications that might interfere:
- Windows + R > type msconfig > Startup tab > disable unnecessary items.
4. RAM and Storage Diagnostics
Windows Memory Diagnostic:
- Windows + R > type mdsched.exe > choose to restart and check for problems.
Check Disk for Errors:
- Windows + R > type chkdsk /f /r > follow the on-screen prompts.
5. Driver Rollback
- Roll Back NVIDIA Drivers:
- Device Manager > Display Adapters > NVIDIA RTX 3070TI > Properties > Driver tab > Roll Back Driver.
I hope this helps.

I am facing the same issue, but I have all AMD version of the omen. It just keeps shutting down whenever I try to run anything with graphics.
The same thing happened while the firmware update, it would switch off mid update and then had to press the startup button.
This is frustrating now.

Hi,
I got the problem fixed.
Luckily, my laptop was still under warranty. They changed the motherboard (including CPU and GPU) with free of cost.
After then, Games are no longer been crashed.

Hello,
Mine is out of warranty. But got the motherboard changed under warranty last year and this issue started recently. Now I do not know what I can do.
I am thinking of taking the battery out and then using the laptop on direct power maybe that fixes it.
