Product: Pavilion 15-cx0056wm
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I tried to upgrade the RAM in my Pavillon15-cx0056wm from 8 gigs of RAM to 32 (two sticks of 16) and the laptop is not having it. I can put 1 stick of 16 gigs in and the laptop runs it fine. I tried 32 gigs because I read in the forum that it should be able to be done.  Can this even be done?

My specs:

I5-8300H @2.30 GHz

Chipset: Coffee Lake Rev. 0.7

Southbridge: Intel HM370 Rev. 10

Motherboard: HP 8478 70.60

Bios: Insyde F.25

 

This the RAM that I purchased:
Kingston Technology HyperX Impact 32GB 2666MHz DDR4 CL15 260-Pin SODIMM Laptop Memory, Kit of 2 (HX426S15IB2K2/32)

RAM sticks are NOT the same, looks like "Kingston Technology HyperX Impact 32GB 2666MHz DDR4 CL15 260-Pin SODIMM Laptop Memory, Kit of 2 (HX426S15IB2K2/32)" id not compatible.

 

Have you tried Unbuffered • NON-ECC RAM ? For example:

 

             https://www.crucial.com/memory/ddr4/ct2k16g4sfd8266/ct14876334  ?
