I followed your instructions and tried to uninstall HP Support Assistant after uninstallation & reboot, the installation directory was still present.

"C:\SWSetup\SP140482" is "temporary" directory for setup, that's not main directory of HP Support Assistant after setup is done...

(1) Remember HP Support Assitant <directory>, this should be c:\program files\ ...  (something like that...)

(2) Uninstall HP Support Assistant

(3) Reboot

(4) Is HP support Assistant <directory> still present ?

I am unable to find the exact directory. Please tell me the exact directory.

Install HP Diagnostics again and check the desktop icon to which <target directory> it points.

For example:

c:\program files\ ???

c:\program files(x86)\ ???

That's all I found in the given directories. I didn't find HP Support Assistant & I don't think it was installed inside "HP Support Framework".

Have you ever had the program on your computer and it worked ?

HP Recommended

yes, a few days ago it was working on my system but when I upgraded it stopped working.

Explain "upgraded"

- windows update ?

- support assistant update ?
