I know this has been reported before but i think the more we report it the more HP will realise that this is unacceptable.

I have a Victus by HP 16.1-inch Gaming Laptop PC 16-s0000 (76T51AV) Product7Z8U0EA Serial [Personal info removed] the laptop is 13 months old and I have the Hall sensor problem.  I have disconnected at and its now working however there is a performance drop.
Its clear that there is a problem with the design. The Hall sensor is taking the heat from the GPU heat sink and fans and causing it to fail.
Now because my laptop is 1 month out of its warranty, there is nothing that can be done. For the price of this laptop i find that unacceptable and will Definitely not recommend anyone buy a HP Gaming laptop unless they are okay with it only lasting a year.

Troubleshooting Steps

Step 1: Check Power & GPU Settings

  • Ensure you're plugged into the original HP power adapter while gaming.
  • Open HP OMEN Gaming Hub and set Graphics Switcher to Discrete Mode (dGPU only).
  • In NVIDIA Control Panel, set Power Management Mode to Prefer Maximum Performance.

Step 2: Disable Fast Startup

  1. Open Control Panel > Power Options.
  2. Click Choose what the power buttons do.
  3. Select Change settings that are currently unavailable.
  4. Uncheck Turn on fast startup.
  5. Restart your laptop.

Step 3: Update BIOS & Drivers

  • Visit HP’s support page and download the latest BIOS, chipset, and GPU drivers.
  • Install them and restart your laptop.

Step 4: Check for Overheating Issues

  • Use HWMonitor or MSI Afterburner to check CPU/GPU temperatures.
  • If temperatures exceed 85°C, clean the cooling system and adjust fan settings.

Step 5: Test with an External Monitor

  • Connect your laptop to an external display via HDMI.
  • If the external monitor works fine, the issue may be with the internal panel or GPU drivers.

This will help us narrow down the cause and suggest the best fix
