Normal laptops during idle can be around 48-50 degrees Celsius. HP Omen machines may be few degrees higher, therefore 50 is ok.
Regards.

Are you sure? I was under the impression that 40oC is good for idle. And these temps don't stay at that range, even when just browsing they will slowly creep. The fans then come on pretty fast to reduce to the 50 range for approximately 10-16 minutes before creeping up to 60. Both GPU and CPU here, with the main culprit seeming to be the GPU.

i have the same issue, on idle with nothing opened i got 55+ °C
and the fan are extremely annoyingly noisy
i asked a famous repair shop in my city and they explained to me that hp is using a very crappy fan system and a very bad thermal paste that stop doing the job after a few months
thats why you dont get this issue in the begining and then after a few intensive play the thermal paste dry out
similar issue was seen on the macbook pro 2016/2017/2018, they changed it on the 2019. not sure if HP did the same for their 2019 omen series *hope thye don't erase my informative message here ....
i am trying to contact hp to get a repair for my omen that i bought on august 2017.
for information my macbook pro i use for my daily work has been repaired for free and it was 3 years out of warranty 🙂
let's see how hp handle this famous issue
you can also google it on youtube, many many people are getting the same issue
