Hello,

There seems to be a major issue with the BIOS version F.30 on HP Omen Laptops. The BIOS screen has stopped displaying, and when I press ESC key to load the BIOS page, it is showing completely blank. Nothing is displaying on the BIOS pages.

This issue has been confirmed on the Reddit post here: https://www.reddit.com/r/HPOmen/comments/1obgsf6/comment/nkkm9en/

As you can see, multiple users are facing the same black screen issue with the BIOS version F.30.

There is also an issue with the on-board AMD drivers which wasn't there before the BIOS update. The graphic drivers keep crashing occasionally. It doesn't matter which AMD driver I am using. I have tried multiple driver versions but all are displaying the same issues.

So, I suspect that all these problems are happening due to the recent BIOS update, and it seems that they are interconnected because I wasn't facing such graphic driver issues when I was on BIOS version F.29.

Please HP team, I request you to kindly look into this matter and treat it as urgent. Please investigate and fix the issues with the latest BIOS version F.30.

To all users - Do not attempt at rolling back the drivers to F.29 because that might permanently brick your laptop. The F.30 version comes with a security patch and it is clearly written not to roll back to F.29 due to this security update.

I’m facing the same issue since installing BIOS version F.30 Rev.A accessing the BIOS has become completely impossible. Because of this, I can’t enable Secure Boot, which means I’m unable to play Battlefield 6. I bought a high-performance gaming PC, and now I’m stuck with a defective BIOS that prevents me from doing exactly what it was built for. Well done, HP truly impressive work. You’ve managed to turn a gaming laptop into a frustration machine, and you don’t seem in any rush to fix it.

My friends have the same trash bios, please fix it we can't play Battlefield 6 together

I am shocked and disappointed how careless and sloppy a company has to be to brick their laptop's BIOS with a broken update, whereas the BIOS is the most important thing in any PC.

Even I cannot reinstall Windows (because my Windows is not resetting). I cannot enter the boot screen as it is also showing blank and not working.

Yeah, I totally get you — that’s super frustrating… especially when you buy a gaming laptop and the BIOS itself becomes the problem.
Have you tried rolling back to an earlier BIOS version (like F.20 or F.25)? Sometimes HP lets you do that through Windows using the HP BIOS Update Utility or via a USB stick with HP Hardware Diagnostics.

that’s ridiculous. You buy a gaming laptop, and the BIOS stops you from gaming? Well done, HP, truly impressive.
Try rolling back to an earlier BIOS version if you can, because this is just nonsense. And of course, HP is in no hurry to fix it… classic.
