OMEN by HP 15-ax100 Laptop PC
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

When my laptop goes to sleep or hibernation, the only way to wake it is to disconnect all peripherals and do a cold boot, when I try the normal keys to wake it, the caps lock key flashes but nothing happens. I hear the fans rotating, but no key on the keyboard can wake the computer.

Please help

Hello Omenkenya

Im not sure exactly why your system is having this problem. Did you recently upgrade to the Fall Creators Update? A few machines had this issue after that update.

One possible work around is to turn off Hibernation/Fast boot.

Open an elevated command prompt by going to the Search bar (Cortana) and typing cmd.

In the pop up list, right click on Command Prompt and choose to run as Administrator.

In the command window, type this line and hit Enter...

powercfg -h off

Exit the command prompt and reboot.

If you want to turn it back on...

powercfg -h on

Does that work?
