Hi @ismetkonur

Welcome to HP Support Community!

We noticed that this thread hasn't had any updates in a while since your original post; while this is rare, we didn't want this post to remain unanswered, so, here's the solution to your query. We hope it helps you and everyone viewing this post 😊

Thanks for explaining everything so clearly. I know how frustrating it is to deal with screen freezes—especially on a new gaming laptop that should be delivering smooth performance.

Based on your HP Victus model and the symptoms you described, this issue is likely tied to GPU scheduling, background app behavior, or system-level timing conflicts—not just BIOS or driver updates.

Here’s a targeted fix that has helped other Victus users experiencing similar freezes:

Step-by-Step Fix for HP Victus Screen Freezing During Gaming

1. Disable Hardware-Accelerated GPU Scheduling

This feature can cause stuttering or freezing on certain systems.

  • Go to Settings > System > Display > Graphics Settings.
  • Scroll down to Hardware-accelerated GPU scheduling.
  • Turn it off.
  • Restart your laptop.

2. Disable Graphics Acceleration in Your Browser

Even if you're gaming, background browser processes can interfere.

  • Open Chrome or Edge.
  • Go to Settings > System.
  • Turn off:
    • “Use graphics acceleration when available”
    • “Continue running background apps when browser is closed”

3. Disable High Precision Event Timer (HPET)

This system timer can conflict with real-time processes like gaming.

  • Right-click the Start menu > Device Manager.
  • Expand System Devices.
  • Find High Precision Event Timer.
  • Right-click and choose Disable device.
  • Restart your laptop.

These steps have resolved freezing issues for other Victus users with similar specs (e.g., Ryzen 5 7535HS + RTX 2050).

You’ve done everything right so far—let’s get your system running the way it was meant to.
