OMEN by HP 16.1 inch Gaming Laptop PC 16-xf0000 (758R3AV)
Microsoft Windows 11

Hi, Yesterday evening, everything was running normally and I shut down the system without any issues.

Weh I tried to start the Notebook in the morning, nothing happened.

I tried to do a BIOS reset (after draining disconnecting battery, pressing Windows+V and 3sec of the power button). The Fan starts a short moment and dies down, after a few seconds the fan goes even faster, but dies again. I can't see any lights (except power-cable LED) and the screen is totally black. No sounds can be heard.

@Peter_Lu, Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I understand how concerning it can be when your OMEN laptop doesn't power on, especially after a BIOS reset attempt. Let's walk through some steps to help isolate and potentially resolve the issue.

Perform a Hard Reset

This helps clear any residual electrical charge that might be preventing the system from starting.

  1. Disconnect the AC adapter and all peripherals (USB devices, external monitors, etc.).
  2. If possible, disconnect the internal battery (if you’re comfortable doing so).
  3. Press and hold the Power button for 15–20 seconds.
  4. Reconnect the AC adapter (without battery if removable) and try powering on.

BIOS Recovery Attempt

If the system is not displaying anything and you suspect a BIOS issue:

  1. Turn off the notebook.
  2. Press and hold Windows + B (or Windows + V) keys.
  3. While holding the keys, press and hold the Power button for 2–3 seconds, then release the power button but keep holding the other keys for another 10–15 seconds.
  4. If successful, you may hear beeps or see the BIOS recovery screen.

Check for Signs of Life

  • Power LED: If only the power cable LED is on and nothing else, it could indicate a deeper hardware issue.
  • Fan Behavior: The fan spinning up and then stopping may suggest a failed POST (Power-On Self-Test).

Use HP Diagnostics

If the system powers on but doesn’t boot, try running HP’s built-in diagnostics:

  • Press Esc repeatedly right after powering on, then press F2 to access diagnostics (if the screen responds).

If none of the above steps work and the screen remains black with no beeps or lights (other than the power cable), the issue may be hardware-related, in that case, we suggest you please visit the nearest HP authorized service center, the service team will check and assist you.
Kindly follow this link to locate the nearest HP service center: HP® Service Center Locator - Deutschland | HP® Support
