hey,
i recently bought this laptop and i am unable to boot it, like it has not turned on once. all it does is that everytime i boot it the screen goes black and the caps lock light keeps blinking.
i would actually send it back but i live in paksitan and someone who lvies in the USA got me this. so if was to claim the warranty i will have to send it back to the USA and that will take alot of effort. i was hoping there was something i could do that wont void the warranty and i still might have a chance of fixing it.
I am currrently thinking of reinstalling the windows.
any suggestions will be more than welcome.

Again, open your bios and reset it (F9). It will be set in UEFI Mode. In other words, taking the bios out of Legacy Mode enables UEFI.
IF the USB drive is still not being recognized in UEFI Mode, you "might" have to disable Secure Boot.
Disabling Secure Boot will require you to reboot and enter a 4 digit code to allow this to happen.
Usually disabling Secure Boot is not necessary.
All computers since Windows 8 use a UEFI bios.

You can certainly reinstall windows if it will let you, but best to run the Diagnostics Tool from power on first.
Rapidly tap F2 after you press the power button.
In the Diagnostics screen, run a full extensive test (longer) and test everything.
Does it give you a failure indication?

A continous blink is not good. Usually means a cpu/motherboard issue.
You dont have to have the Windows 10 key to re-install Windows with.
If you install with the ISO from Microsoft, it will reactivate when it connects to the internet.
Here is somthing else to try also.
If it wont let you get into the Diagnostics or Bios...
Unplug the power cord and hold the power button down for 20 seconds.
Plug the cord back in and see if it will let you get into the Diagnostics now.
Sometimes it will work, sometimes not.
If not, theres a slight chance that reseating the memory and hard drive will help.
Here is the manual giving you an idea how to take the back off.
While its open, you can also unplug the battery and pull the cmos battery out for 5 minutes to reset bios.

All this might help and since you are in Pakistan, might as well try.
But if it does not work, its a hardware issue and will have to be sent back to USA for repair/exchange.
Im sorry. Let me know what you find out.

That is good.
Will it turn on now after running the Diagnostics?
If not, see if it will access F11 at start up.
If so, run the HP Recovery process.
Go to the link below and go to Recovery when Windows 10 does not start correctly.
This will show you how to run F11 recovery.

So the laptop comes with two drives one is a ssd(128) and a hard drive which is 1tb. I ended up installing the windows on the hard drive and changed the boot preference. The laptop boots up now and everything works fine but it only shows a disk space of something around 250 only
