I have an out of warranty laptop and I was wondering what warranty options I might have to purchase. I purchased the laptop in November 2018, and the manufacturer warranty ended in Nov 2019. I wasn’t able to purchase an HP Care Pack at the time.

I called HP Customer Support, and they told me that an HP Care Pack wasn’t available so I had to buy a Smart Friend warranty. They transferred me three times to another Warranty department. And they are telling me that I’m purchasing a 1 yr HP Care Pack for $130. I don’t know if this is fake or if I should trust it.

I reviewed your post and I understand that you want to purchase an extended warranty for your computer.

Don’t worry, I assure you I will try my best to get this sorted.

Usually, you can purchase an extended warranty when the computer is still under manufacturer warranty. As per the information that I have, HP does have Smart Friend support and I believe it only covers software issues.

However, I recommend you contact support and they will be able to assist you in this regard.

Here is how you can get in touch with support.

1)Click on this link – www.hp.com/contacthp/

2)Select the product type.

3)Enter the serial number of your device or select let HP detect your product option.

4)Select the country from the drop-down.

5)You should see the HP phone support number or Chat option listed.

Let me know how it goes and you have a great day!

P.S: Welcome to the HP Support Community 😊
