Recently, whenever I plug in my AC adapter to my laptop the fans immediately ramp up and go to max speed with large fluctuations in CPU temperature in OMEN Gaming Hub. Normally, the idle CPU temps hang around 40-50 C, but when plugged in to power they spike to 80-90 C on idle. When unplugged this problem does not happen, only when plugged into power with the stock adapter. Battery temperature reported in HP Support Assistant is 26 C. I found a quick fix where going to "Power Options" and changing "Maximum processor state" to 99% fixes the fan and temperature fluctuations; however, I would like a better fix if one exists as this causes the CPU speed to be limited to only 2.4 GHz. BIOS has been updated to most recent version. Any help is appreciated.
