Im using HP Victus 15 79J60PA#UUF. I tried opening websites with cam, apps with cam and the cam app that came with the laptop. all of them gave me different error code. but the prominent is no attached cam and same with the light it keeps blinking. I tried every instruction I could find in the net and even here. There is no shutter in my version of victus and every instruction i found did not work except for updating the driver that I could not  completely do. my windows ver is 24h2 and their is no driver for my version of windows. I wanted to try the older version but surprisingly their is no actual drivers for cams in the website. If i tried looking for it outside HP. I couldn't find what kind or model the cam is.

I tried all the diagnostic test. It all passed. but still my cam is still not working.

Hello djtopak,

Resolving Camera Issues on HP Victus 15 79J60PA

If your camera is not working on the HP Victus 15 79J60PA and the driver is giving an error, you can try the following troubleshooting steps:

1. Check for a Physical Shutter or Function Key
Some Victus models have:

A physical shutter switch near the webcam
Or a keyboard shortcut like Fn + F8 or Fn + F10 (look for a camera icon)
Try toggling that key or switch—even if it seems unrelated. It may be disabling the camera at the hardware level.

2. Fully Reinstall the Camera Driver
Even if you’ve restarted it, a clean reinstall can reset corrupted settings:

Press Win + X → Device Manager
Expand Cameras or Imaging Devices
Right-click your webcam → Uninstall device
Check “Delete the driver software for this device” if available
Restart your laptop—Windows will reinstall the default driver
If the camera doesn’t reappear, go to HP’s support page and manually install the latest webcam driver for your exact model.

3. Run HP Hardware Diagnostics (Camera Test)
This checks if the camera is physically responsive:

Restart your laptop and press Esc or F2 repeatedly to enter diagnostics
Run the Camera Test under “Component Tests”
If the test fails or the light keeps blinking, note the error code

4. Check Camera Privacy Settings (Again, but Thoroughly)
Go to:

Settings > Privacy & Security > Camera
Ensure Camera access and Let apps access your camera are both ON
Scroll down and confirm Zoom, Webcam Test, and Camera App have permission

5. Make sure all software bios is up-to date , please find the link for driver:

https://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/victus-by-hp-15.6-inch-gaming-laptop-15-fb0000/model/2101128981...

6. Try Alternate Apps
Sometimes the built-in Camera app fails while Zoom or Teams still work. Try:

webcamtests.com in your browser
Zoom or Google Meet
If the camera works in one but not others, it’s likely a software conflict

Please let us know if this resolve the issue.
