OMEN by HP - 15-dc0106tx
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I've faced a strange issue 2 weeks ago. When booting up my HP Omen, I got the "CMOS Reset (502) The CMOS checksum is invalid" message.

I restarted the laptop to reset the CMOS and everything worked fine; I was able to log into Windows. But then Support Assistant shows a "Replace Battery" message. On running the HP hardware diagnostics, the battery fails the test there also. So I decide to get the battery replaced after I get back from my 2-week vacation.

After returning from my vacation, I boot up the laptop. Again the CMOS 502 error appears. On restarting, I'm able to log in. Support Assistant has the Replace Battery status.

Since the laptop was switched off and disconnected for 2 weeks, the battery was completely discharged to 0%. Once I log in, the battery start to recharge. I run the battery test in Support Assistant and this time, it passes. I run the HP hardware diagnostic test for the battery and it passes that too. Support Assistant isn't showing the Replace Battery status anymore.

Any idea what has exactly happened? How come the battery is working fine now? Was it just a software issue? Why was the CMOS Reset error appearing?

Downloaded and installed the drivers as you have listed. However, I have a newer version of Support Assistant.
