HP Pavilion Gaming Laptop 15-cx0001la
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello everyone, so I acquired this Hp Pavilion Gaming 15 cx0001la. I was expecting to run it with no any issue but it appeared that after a really short session of gaming of around 10 or 15 minutes (Basically I ran Mount and Blade Warband, not a high end requeriments game) and my laptop apparently just shut down with no any advice, I was really scared because I thought something got overheated inside but as I said before someone wasn't fitting because It is not a CPU/GPU destroying game!!
So I found this is basically the problem

As fast as possible I updated my BIOS version from F.20 to F.27 but the problem still the same!!
So I want to know how to solve this problem or if I can rollback to any other stable BIOS version, if it's the case what version do I need to install that won't ruin my experience and what I paid for!?!?

Thanks for your time.

CPU- i5 8300h

GPU - NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050

Ram- 8gb

BIOS- F.27

So basically after hours of reading, I can't rollback to a stable version of this BIOS due to HP blocking the BIOS updates so, when will HP fix this issue within this laptop?!
Engineers should fix this problem because it's really tedious having to limit yourself to office tasks in such a powerful laptop.
Also I verified I wasn't overheating, basically when the CPU and the GPU are reaching constantly numbers around +50% of their usage it will just shut down unexpectedly.
i'd guess I'll have to wait for a new BIOS update since I can't rollback in

NOTE: I noticed the lpatop suddenly shutdown when the temps reach the 70°C which is actually not a lot compared to the 100% usage of the GPU and CPU

Hello @Jair30

In your case:

- The notebook should normally be disassembled and checked

- Thermal paste for CPU GPU and bridges should be renewed.

- Furthermore, the function of the fan must be checked.

- General cleaning ...

If you can't do that, you should have it serviced by a professional notebook repair store.

best regards

No... It's not about dust, cleaning and thermal paste.
I checked it around 5 days ago and its in perfect conditions, there's not also a physical damage of it.
It's literally the BIOS which is making it impossible.
I checked the paste and it's not dry, it's still humid.
