Hi @Fahim17,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

I understand your Victus by HP 15-fa0xxx laptop’s built-in microphone is not picking up any sound. Let’s go through a few steps to troubleshoot this.

a. Check Microphone Settings

Right-click the sound icon in the taskbar and select Sounds > Recording tab.

Ensure the Internal Microphone is set as default and not muted.

Speak into the microphone and see if the green bar moves to confirm input.

b. Check Privacy Settings

Go to Settings > Privacy & Security > Microphone.

Ensure Microphone access is turned on for the device and for the apps you are using.

c. Update Audio Drivers

Open Device Manager > Audio Inputs and Outputs.

Right-click your internal microphone and select Update driver > Search automatically.

Alternatively, download the latest Realtek or Conexant audio drivers from HP’s support site for your model.

d. Run the Windows Troubleshooter

Go to Settings > System > Troubleshoot > Other troubleshooters > Recording Audio > Run.

Follow the prompts to detect and fix microphone issues automatically.

e. Check for Conflicting Apps

Close any apps that may be using the microphone exclusively, like Skype or Zoom.

Restart the app you want to test and see if the microphone works.

f. Perform a Quick Test

Open Voice Recorder (built-in Windows app) and try recording a short clip to see if sound is captured.

g. Reset Audio Services

Press Windows + R, type services.msc, and press Enter.

Locate Windows Audio and Windows Audio Endpoint Builder, right-click and select Restart.

I hope this helps.
