I purchased this laptop 5 days back and so many issues are coming but the main Hardware level issue is the Thermal issue, the laptop is heating too much just after launching the game like(ROTTR,Dead by Daylight) and even PUBG mobile also which is not even using the CPU &GPU resources more than 20% but the temps are :
CPU : 84 *C
GPU : 75 *C
and this temp is just after 5 mins of game play.
Please help me what to do, and why the hell is this fan not spining always when it reaches 80 *C then only it starts, and we dont even have the control of the fan to manually speedup the spining.
Please anyone helpme, i think all omen laptops are facing same issue, or should i return this laptop and buy from other brand?

You can also go into the bios settings by restting and hitting esc until a note pops up on the bottom left corner and tells you to press F10. Press it and when in the bios menu navigate with the right directional key till you see CPU POWER SETTINGS OR LEVELS (forget the exact words) but point is you'll know it when you see it and go down click enter and go down to 35 or 30 this allows you to run most if not all games at high settings avoiding oeverhearting. it seems to drop by 10 8-10c each 5 or 10 watts I usually keep mine on 30 or 35 while gaming. Some people say to set it as low as 25 but I havent bothered or seen a reason to go that low but its something to know. I wouldn't go any lower than 25 though. And p.s, undervolting also works this is just simpler and I don't know much about undervolting and went with this solution but after seeing this I might try throtlestop again. Hope this helped

Yeah, ive got a HP Omen 17t-AN100 ( built/born on 9-12-2018.) also has the 8750H and GTX1070. Cant play anything more than 30 minutes without the computer hibernating do to exccesive heat.
check your ACPI sensor, ive discovered mine is working improperly.

Those temperatures are fine. These CPUs don't throttle until 100 degrees, although avoiding that is obviously a good thing. I suggest you download Throttlestop and undevolt the CPU core and cache by 125mv. You should see a reduction in heat of about 8 degrees.
As for the CPU, seriously, 75 degrees is absolutely fine. HP has set the throttle point to 92 degrees, and even that is 4 degrees below Nvidia's default. As long as you're below 85 degrees, you're fine.
Also, if any of this worries you, you can always use the new comfort mode whilst gaming, although you will need to install the latest BIOS and download the latest Command Centre. The fans will ramp up but you will see a reduction of about ten degrees.

Hi, after updating the latest BIOS from last week I'm not facing that much thermals on GPU(around 85*C ,playing for 1hrs).
But, the condition is same for CPU it just ramps up to 90*C+ if I play for 30 mins also and I brought this laptop to play AAA titles( like PUBG, Assassins Creed odyssey/origins, SOTTR,ROTTR etc) and definitely not for playing IGI I'm going in.
So please provide some tweaks for CPU to take down the thermal temps.
I bought this laptop to play games not at ultra high preset(I know laptops have limitations) but atleast able to play at medium settings.
But I'm currently playing Assassins Creed Origins and I'm forced to play this at very low preset because of CPU temps reaching 90*C+ even in very low preset also.

See my previous post. Install Throttlestop and undervolt the CPU cache and core by 125mv. If it stays stable with no blue screens, lower that to 130mv. Continue with 5mv drops until you start seeing instability with blue screens pointing at IRQ issues etc. Once you have done this and have got a stable voltage set Throttlestop to automatically start using Task Scheduler.
I lowered the i5-8300 in my Omen by 145mv and didn't bother going any further because, no matter what I play or how long I play it for, my CPU never goes above 81 degrees and spends most of its time under load in the mid 70s. You won't replicate this with your i7 because it's a hotter chip, but you should be able to make it run under 90 degrees without an issue.

I know this thing buddy, i have already set the power to 30 not tried 25 because laptop may shutdown unexpectedly due to low power. This one works somewhat (reduced 6-7 *C) but i will suggest you to play Assassin's creed Origins in very Low settings, beacause even if i have gtx 1060 i can't play this game for more than 15 mins in Low settings also forget about HIGH/ULTRA. The temps rises to 90+ *C in 15 mins of gameplay, i would suggest HP developers to roll out new BIOS for optimized thermal performance while playing these types of AAA titles.
BTW i will accept it as a solution, hope HP rolls out new BIOS specifically for thermal management.

you are taking about the left side fan?
Right side fan works on CPU temp and left side fan works on GPU temp.
that's the reason. but as you said both should ramp up to max as heat is distributed through the heat pipes.

There is a flaw in the design the gpu heat goes to cpu ,thats why it is running hot, beacuse both fans are not working up to fullest,.
They should give fan control to users .
laptop is useles if it has 1060 does not do constant 60 fps on ultra settings under 85C temps.no matter what the game it is ,they should know they are making gaming laptops ,i have read lot of issues running fom years that hp makes heating machines, now i know, they are not working on their cooling framework.even the f****** 1050 2gb is overheating reaching 95 plus temps on cs go,i have seen people in service center ,having their laptop in service center for more than 2 months.poor customer service
