I bought that Gaming Laptop because of the very good review it has at that time, how wrong I was after a year. It can't be used anymore because it keeps shutting it's display (screen is like a disco). I am the Division Information Technology Officer in the office and to tell you all frankly, I am very much ashamed. I might have over-pitched the idea that my Laptop is very very good.

Hi @JuliusOreback,

I understand how disappointing it must be to experience display issues like this on your Victus Gaming Laptop, especially after having confidence in its performance. Let’s go through a few checks that might help narrow down the cause of the problem.

Check for External Magnetic Interference
The Hall sensor detects lid position and can be triggered by nearby magnets. Ensure there are no magnetic devices (like phone covers, speakers, or watches) close to the laptop.

Update BIOS and Graphics Drivers
Outdated firmware or drivers can sometimes cause display instability.

Visit the HP Support website and enter your product number (86J75PA).

Download and install the latest BIOS, chipset, and graphics drivers for your laptop.

Perform a Hard Reset
This helps clear any residual electrical charge that may cause erratic hardware behavior.

Shut down the laptop.

Disconnect the power adapter and remove any peripherals.

Press and hold the power button for about 15 seconds, then reconnect power and turn it on.

Check Display Behavior in BIOS
Restart the system and press F10 repeatedly to enter BIOS.

If the screen flickers or turns off in BIOS, it indicates a hardware-related issue with the Hall sensor or display.

Run HP Hardware Diagnostics

Turn on the laptop and immediately press F2 to open HP PC Hardware Diagnostics.

Run a system test or, specifically, a display test to identify any hardware faults.

I hope this helps.

I did try to do as you laid out but the problem is I could'nt even open it properly because it keeps going like a disco. It seems to cycle through closing the laptop itself or the start up. Everything is a mess. I tried to use an extended screen, unfortunately they show the same thing. But there is just one good thing to see in the extended monitor, the screen display does not close (but the start up is also a mess). It is just better because the laptop display is really like a disco. I am going to open it today, I'm gonna try to detatch the hall sensor display connector. Hope this works.
