OMEN Laptop - 15-ek0013dx
Microsoft Windows 11

I have a tiny problem with my laptop trackpad. Ever since I began using it throughout the past 4 years, a white spot appears from my trackpad of the location where I normally press with my fingers. Is there a way to get rid of the white/black spot from my trackpad.

Hi @Jeremiahm0629, Welcome to HP Support Community!

We noticed that this thread hasn't had any updates in a while since your original post; while this is rare, we didn't want this post to remain unanswered, so, here's the solution to your query. We hope it helps you and everyone viewing this post 😊

Based on the visual inspection and your description, the white spot on the trackpad of your OMEN Laptop - 15-ek0013dx is most likely caused by physical wear due to repeated finger pressure over the years.
Here's how you can address or minimize the issue:

Clean the Trackpad Surface

Sometimes oils and residue can exaggerate wear spots.

  • Use a microfiber cloth slightly dampened with isopropyl alcohol (70% or higher).
  • Gently rub the trackpad in circular motions.
  • Avoid using household cleaners or excessive liquid.

Apply a Trackpad Protector

If the spot bothers you visually or affects touch sensitivity:

  • Use a trackpad skin or protector (available on Amazon or laptop accessory stores).
  • Choose a matte or transparent film designed for 15.6" OMEN laptops.
  • This can cover the worn area and prevent further wear.

Optional: External Mouse

If the trackpad wear affects usability, consider using a wireless or USB mouse for daily tasks.

If the wear is severe or affects functionality, please visit the nearest HP authorized service center, the service team will check and assist you.
