You mean the 4K scores are very low ?   (is it because I chose 100MiB instead of 1000 ?)

If it's very low, what do you recommend ?

I would run the test over again on all the settings and see. Those results are bizarre. And yet, the diagnostic part of the test says the hard drive is fine.

Now the 1 GiB test :

I also just called HP support.

They made me boot up, press escape to get to "System menu".

The "Hard disc" diagnostic for the drive shows Success.

So, should I care about the "Performing way below expectations" from userbenchmark ?

Is there anything else can do ?

The 4K tests are low but that is normal, just not quite that low. The tests using larger blocks are fine, actually way faster than I thought they would be. I would say you are OK.

Thanks !!!

Hai huffer,

My notebook model is HP ay008-tx.

i  am also suffering the same problem.I have a 5400 rpm 1tb HDD  and its read speed 1.83MBPS I feel like its working too slow because whenever  i try to transfer something to an external drive it gives a transfer speed of 3-4 MBPS

and when ever i try to move a large folder from one drive to another  it gives a speed of 5-6MBPS.I don't  know how to improve it, SO please help me as fast as you can.

We need specific read/write sppeds to assess. It's a 5400 rpm drive so you are likely getting speeds in the 20s or 30s Mb/s for read/write...a fraction of the speed of an SSD.

Something like HDD tach will give a specific score we can compare.
