looking for help to get a motherboard upgrade for this laptop to run windows 11. not a replacement motherboard. i don't think HP sells it so if someone would provide a source to buy it that would be great.

You should be able to install one of the motherboards that come with Windows product keys listed in chapter 3 of the service manual on your notebook's user guides page.

Make sure you purchase the correct heat sink for the motherboard you are interested in buying as well as faster memory chips if your notebook has DDR4-2400 memory.

I would have no idea where you could find a motherboard, heatsink, etc for your PC.

You can check the HP parts store for starters, but it is highly unlikely they will have what you need.

BTW...You don't have to spend a dime to upgrade to W11 on your notebook.

If you are interested in installing W11 on your PC as is, you can read this discussion for how I upgraded several HP and Dell notebook and desktop PC's that did not meet the W11 hardware requirements to W11 22H2/22H3.

You have to use the version of the Rufus utility that I zipped up and attached in the discussion (v3.18).

If the in-place upgrade fails, you should be able to clean install W11 using the bootable W11 installation flash drive you made with Rufus.

I have to replace the motherboard as the graphics card melted, no good, so it has to be replaced. I've seen replacement boards on ebay and chinese sites, from $150 to $350  IMG_3241.jpg
